Peer-Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Agricultural Science journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, in accordance with internationally accepted principles: excellence, impartiality, transparency, efficiency, confidentiality, research ethics, accountability for quality, and avoidance of conflicts of interest.
1. Submission and initial evaluation
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), and the file name should include the author's full name (e.g., Name_Surname.doc). The editorial coordinator receives submissions via the online submission system and performs the initial assessment.
If the manuscript is written in English by non-native speakers, it is strongly recommended that it be reviewed by a native speaker or a certified translator familiar with agricultural terminology before submission.
The initial evaluation focuses on both content and form:
- Manuscripts must be relevant to the journal's scope, logically structured, and follow scientific writing standards. They should include all necessary sections: abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions, and references. References must reflect relevant prior research.
- Manuscripts must comply with the formatting guidelines outlined in the Author Guidelines (e.g., font, size, spacing). Recommended manuscript length is between 8–10 pages.
Following the initial check, the author receives confirmation of manuscript receipt and feedback on compliance with submission criteria. Manuscripts that fall outside the journal’s scope, contain major scientific or linguistic deficiencies, or fail to meet basic requirements may be rejected without peer review.
2. Peer Review Stage
Manuscripts deemed suitable for further evaluation are sent to two independent reviewers, experts in the field, selected by the deputy editor based on topic and area of expertise. The journal follows a double-blind review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure objectivity.
Reviewers evaluate submissions using a standardized evaluation form, focusing on:
- Scientific rigor and originality
- Methodological soundness
- Relevance of literature cited
- Clarity of presentation and structure
Based on the assessment, reviewers will recommend one of the following:
- Accept without revisions
- Accept with minor revisions
- Accept with major revisions
- Reject
The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the editorial board, taking into account the reviewers’ recommendations and the scientific quality of the work.
The typical review process takes approximately 4–6 weeks, though timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
Production and Publication
Once a manuscript is accepted, it enters the production phase, which includes professional copy-editing, Authors will receive proofs for final review and must approve the final version before publication. After final corrections, the article will be assigned pagination and published both in print and online.
